Charlie Sheen denies Haim sex abuse claim

FORMER Two and a Half Men star Charlie Sheen has denied claims he sodomised Corey Haim when the child star was just 13

The National Enquirer reports that Sheen, then 19, allegedly had sex with Haim while filming the 1986 movie, Lucas.

However, Sheen's lawyers told the Enquirer that he never had sex with Haim.

Former actor Dominick Brascia claims Haim disclosed to him what happened before his death in 2010 at the age of 38.

"Haim told me he had sex with Sheen when they filmed Lucas," Brascia told the Enquirer. "He told me they smoked pot and had sex. He said they had anal sex. Haim said after it happened Sheen became very cold and rejected him. When Corey wanted to fool around again, Charlie was not interested."

Brascia said Haim told him the pair had sex again when he was in his mid-to-late 20s.

"He claimed he didn't like it and was finally over Sheen. He said Charlie was a loser," he said.

The Enquirer claimed it had spoken to dozens of sources who said Haim told them about the alleged abuse by Sheen before he died in 2010 of pneumonia.

The allegations come as Haim's best friend and fellow ex child star Corey Feldman started naming names to LAPD of people he believes are part of a Hollywood paedophilia ring.

Feldman previously wrote in his autobiography Coreyography: A Memoir, that Haim was abused on the set of Lucas.

"At some point during the filming (of Lucas, Haim) explained an adult male convinced him it was perfectly normal for older men and younger boys in the business to have sexual relations, that it was 'what all guys do','' Feldman wrote.

"So they walked off to a secluded area between two trailers during a lunch break for the cast and crew,' continued Feldman, "and Haim, innocent and ambitious as he was, allowed himself to be sodomised."

Feldman has never named Sheen as the perpetrator although he has said on the record before that he doesn't care much for Sheen.

"I'm not a huge fan of Charlie Sheen ... especially the way he's affected other people that I know," he has said.

The Enquirer also reported that Sheen's ex-wife Denise Richards said in a 2006 court filing that the actor visited websites featuring males and females "who looked underage".

Richards reportedly signed the documents to stop Sheen being able to have their daughters, Sam and Lola, stay with him overnight.

Orlando police arrest 2 women accused of tampering with child sex case
Krista Torralva
Orlando Sentinel

Two women who Orlando Police say tried to keep a child sexual assault victim from helping law enforcement charge her abuser are now in the same jail.

Orlando police want to send a strong message with the Tuesday arrest of Natasha Douglas, 36, (right) and Nichelle Taylor, 31 (left).

“If you’re manipulating the process and trying to interfere with the justice system … we’re going to get the warrants for your arrest and have you arrested and put behind bars,” Sergeant Tami Edwards said Wednesday.

The women pressured the girl to sign a a legal document that would have requested officers drop molestation and sexual battery charges against Antonio Thomas, 32.

The girl called Orlando police in August and said Thomas began molesting her when she was 11, Edwards said. The abuse continued more than five times over a period of time, according to an arrest report.

Antonio Thomas is accused of sexually abusing a child younger than 12. (Orange County Jail)

After his arrest, Taylor, who is related to the girl, missed several interviews with police, Orlando police spokeswoman Michelle Guido said. Taylor is charged with accessory after the fact to capital felony, harassing as witness and failure to report child abuse. Douglas, who is dating Thomas, was charged with tampering with a witness. The women face up to life in prison if convicted.

Thomas, a father, has been reported to the Florida Department of Children and Families, Edwards said. He is charged with sexual battery on a child under 12, lewd and lascivious molestation, child abuse and other charges.

Missouri stepfather sentenced to 35 years in
child sexual abuse case
RACHEL MCKEE TAYLOR

A Columbia man was sentenced to 35 years in prison Wednesday for sexually abusing his stepdaughter.

The names of the victim and the accused are being withheld by the Missourian to protect the identity of the child.

In September, a jury found the 38-year-old man guilty of two counts of first-degree statutory rape of a person under 14, two counts of first-degree statutory sodomy of a person under 14 and one count of endangering the welfare of a child. The girl was between ages 7-10 when the crimes occurred.

At the sentencing hearing before Circuit Court Judge Jodie Asel, he was sentenced to a total of 35 years on the charges.

The child testified in her stepfather's trial, describing the morning when she told her school counselor about the sexual abuse she had suffered.

In a video of a forensic interview of the child by a forensic interviewer Ashton Eibel, the child described how he forced her to have sex with him and watch pornographic videos.

Assistant Prosecuting Attorney Tracy Gonzalez argued in the trial that a child of the victim’s age wouldn’t have been able to describe the sexual acts she was forced to perform in such detail.

Gonzalez said the child now lives with her biological father.

Little classmate helps save girl after months of
sexual abuse in Arizona

PEORIA, AZ - An elementary school student is credited with helping to save a friend after 18 months of sexual abuse by a family friend, police say.

Peoria police report that on October 27 they were contacted by an elementary school who alerted them that one of their students may be the victim of sexual abuse.

The school was contacted by a parent who reportedly told them that the victim confided in their child that she was being tied up, sexually abused and photographed. She was also threatened by the suspect with death if she exposed him.

The victim also allegedly told her friend that the suspect had broken her arm. School officials confirmed to police that the victim did come to school in a sling, at the beginning of the school year.

Police and investigators from the Office of Child Welfare removed the child from the Peoria home and interviewed her.

The victim reportedly recalled multiple incidents over the past 18 months of sexual contact, and the taking of sexually explicit photos. She identified the suspect as 30-year-old Andrew Cook, a family acquaintance.

Police collected Cook’s cell phone memory card. On it, police say, they found multiple nude photos of the victim and Cook. In one of the images, a tattooed "W" is reportedly seen on a man's finger. Police say Cook has the same tattoo on his finger.

Cook was arrested at his home on October 27 and is being held on a $500,000 bond on 23 various sexual crimes with a minor.

Police say even more charges may be filed, as they are investigating the possibility of a second victim.

Wisconsin town clerk takes plea deal in
child sex abuse case
Lou Raguse, KARE

BALSAM LAKE, Wis. - A prominent western Wisconsin man has taken a plea deal in a child abuse case.

Sixty-seven-year-old Virgil Hansen, a firefighter, farmer and town clerk in Milltown, Wisconsin, is accused of repeatedly sexually and physically abusing the same boy from 2013 to 2015.

Hansen was initially charged with repeated sexual assault of a child, trafficking of a child, sexual exploitation of a child, child enticement, soliciting a child for prostitution, causing mental harm to a child and physical abuse of a child. All of the charges are felonies.

As part of a plea deal, Hansen appeared in court Wednesday and pleaded no contest to an amended set of charges - two counts of child abuse and one count of causing mental harm to a child. A no contest plea is a conviction and has the same effect as a guilty plea, but does not require the defendant to go into detail on what he did and did not do.

"I believe it’s a situation where neither side is totally happy with the result, which is probably evidence that it’s a good plea agreement," said Assistant Polk County District Attorney James Rennicke to the judge during the hearing.

Are you kidding? Dropping most of the worst charges for a plea deal is not fair to the victim and who cares if the pervert is happy with it? This looks like a really bad deal for the victim and for justice. I hope the judge throws it out!

The criminal complaint states that Hansen repeatedly tied up, blindfolded, and physically and sexually abused the boy for a period of nearly two years, from the time he was 13 to the time he was 15.

When a search warrant was executed at Hansen's home, investigators found evidence including belts, twine, a white rope and a zip tie.

The victim told investigators he'd known Hansen since he was 12. Text messages exchanged between the two and listed in the complaint make mention of "torchure," and the victim being "tied up" and referred to as a "slave," in exchange for money.

According to the complaint, in text messages to the defendant in March of 2015, the victim told him that the abuse was "bothering" him. "Im too pissed. Depressed. It's too hard. I want to tell someone," he wrote.

The following month, he told authorities about the abuse. The victim told investigators he came forward because he had been arguing with his parents and had been depressed. He said he blurted out the truth in an argument.

According to the complaint, investigators also told Hansen that "if there were other children it was better to know now." The complaint states that "Hansen said he couldn't think of anyone."

Hansen is scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 29 for sentencing. The most serious charge, causing mental harm to a child, carries a sentence of up to 12 and a half years in prison.

Hansen's attorney will argue for much less.

"I’m hoping probation, maybe. But I'll have to see," Hansen said to KARE 11 following the plea hearing.

Anything less than 20 years will be an outrage!

D.C. Police, AG Investigate Public Charter School for Not Reporting Teacher's Suspected Child Sex Offense
By Scott MacFarlane, Rick Yarborough and Jeff Piper
NBCWashington

A Washington, D.C., public charter school is under investigation by D.C. police and D.C.’s attorney general for failure to report a suspected sex offense by a teacher, according to officials with each agency.

Police reports show the investigation stems from Capital City Public Charter Schools’ handling of longtime former social studies teacher Alan Coleman, who pleaded guilty last week to child sex abuse for a relationship with a 14-year-old girl he taught at a prior school in 2004.

Coleman managed to find a new teaching job in Florida weeks after he was fired by Capital City Public Charter School for suspected child sex abuse, according to a News4 I-Team investigation.

The investigation raises questions about when the school notified authorities about its suspicions of the teacher’s misconduct. Though the school fired Coleman in March 2015, days after learning of allegations of his prior sex abuse of a student, the Metropolitan Police Department said it was not notified about Coleman’s abuse case until April 2016. A police official told the I-Team the agency was not first notified about Coleman’s suspected abuse by Capital City Public Charter School but by the victim herself.

D.C. law requires any adult who learns of suspected child abuse to promptly notify police of their suspicions, according to a D.C. police spokesman.

The I-Team investigation revealed Coleman secured a new teaching job at Eastside High School in Gainesville, Florida, four months after he was fired by Capital City Public Charter School. His job application, obtained under the Freedom of Information Act, included a positive job reference from a fellow Capital City Public Charter School teacher. “Mr. Coleman had a fantastic rapport with his students,” the reference letter said.

In think said teacher should be investigated!

Gainesville school officials told the I-Team they conducted a mandatory background check on Coleman in summer 2015. They said the report came back clean. Gainesville school officials said they also received a positive job reference from a former principal, who’d recently retired, at Capital City Public Charter School.

The I-Team’s investigation shows Capital City Public Charter School notified school parents about Coleman’s firing and arrest by letter in May 2016, weeks after Coleman’s arrest by D.C. police and more than a year after the school terminated his employment. “We have been cooperating with the appropriate District officials and were asked to keep the matter confidential so as not to jeopardize their investigation,” the letter said.

Capital City Public Charter School declined multiple requests for an interview and declined to answer specific questions about when it notified police or its own staff about Coleman’s suspected sex abuse.
In a written statement to the I-Team, a school spokeswoman said, “We are confident that we discharged our responsibilities properly in this matter. We have cooperated with law enforcement in all phases of its investigation and will continue to do so.”

A spokesman for D.C. Attorney General Karl Racine said the office’s review of individuals at Capital City Public Charter School is ongoing. “The allegations in this matter are currently under investigation, and the complainant is cooperating with our office,” the spokesman said. “Our prosecutors will make a determination regarding whether charges will be filed in this case once our investigation has been completed.”

Coleman declined requests for comment from the I-Team after a court appearance in late October. According to court proceedings, Coleman pleaded guilty to a count of child sex abuse. Attorneys told the judge they expect to recommend three years prison time when Coleman is sentenced in January.
According to police reports, Coleman’s victim was a 14-year-old student of his in 2004 at DC’s KIPP DC Key Academy public charter school.

A police affidavit said KIPP DC Key Academy’s principal met with officers in April 2016, shortly before Coleman’s arrest. According to the affidavit, the KIPP DC Key Academy principal told officers she declined to renew Coleman’s contract after the 2004 school year amid concerns Coleman had an “inappropriate” relationship with the student.

When contacted by the I-Team last month, KIPP DC Key Academy said, “If there was evidence of the misconduct Mr. Coleman was later charged with, we would have immediately alerted the appropriate authorities. The nature of the inappropriate relationship that led to us not extending Mr. Coleman an offer letter was professional in nature.”

The spokesman for D.C.’s Attorney General said if charges were brought against individuals for failure to report a suspected case of child abuse, those people would face a maximum of six months in prison and a $1,000 fine.

Child-sex suspect arrested on multiple new felonies in Arkansas
JOSH DOOLEY, jdooley@baxterbulletin.com

A 34-year-old Mountain Home man already facing charges of sexual assault and stalking of a young teenage girl, now faces 29 additional felony charges in connection with three burglaries and a multitude of thefts, according to a news release from Baxter County Sheriff John Montgomery.

Christopher Collins was arrested Tuesday on 12 counts of forgery, 12 counts of fraudulent use of a credit card, two counts each of residential burglary and breaking or entering and one count of theft of property.

The charges stem from the investigation of two burglaries. In one burglary, a credit card and $13,000 in cash were taken from a Baxter County Road 782 home. A second resident on the same road reported two saws, a chainsaw and a miter saw, as being stolen.

The stolen credit card was used at numerous locations in Mountain Home and Flippin. According to the news release, investigators used surveillance footage from one of the businesses to identify Collins as the individual using the stolen credit card.

Armed with a search warrant, investigators searched Collins' home Tuesday. Inside the home, authorities reportedly found several items identified as having been purchased with the stolen credit card.

They also allegedly found the two stolen saws. In addition, investigators reportedly found several items of drug paraphernalia in the Baxter County Road 782 residence.

Child sexual abuse charges

At the time of his most recent arrest, Collins was out on bond after a June arrest in Newton County on charges of fourth-degree sexual assault, two counts of internet stalking of a child, residential burglary and possession of drug paraphernalia.

A woman housesitting in the eastern portion of Newton County called authorities there and reported she went into her niece's bedroom around 5 a.m. and found a man naked in bed with the girl.

The woman said the man, who appeared to be in his 30s, fled the room through an open window upon seeing the aunt enter the room.

Newton County authorities contacted the Arkansas State Police Crimes Against Children Division and Grandma's House Child Advocacy Center. Officials with those agencies joined the investigation and the girl was interviewed.

The girl told authorities she came into contact with Collins through Facebook Messenger. Collins then reportedly helped the girl join adult-oriented sites. The pair exchanged messages and pictures, according to the news release.

During conversations, Collins reportedly scheduled a rendezvous with the girl at her home. He reportedly instructed her to leave her window open so he could access the residence.

After Collins was discovered in the girl's room and fled, he later contacted the girl through Facebook Messenger. At that point, authorities had yet to identify Collins.

Investigators were given access to the alleged victim's social media accounts and proceeded to set up a meeting with Collins, who thought he was corresponding with the victim.

Collins reportedly arrived at the agreed upon location, driving a vehicle that matched the description he'd given to the 'girl' and had items he promised to bring, in the vehicle with him. Authorities conducting surveillance at the site said Collins arrived at 3 a.m. and was taken into custody.

According to an affidavit filed in the case, authorities found blankets, pillows, personal lubricant, condoms, adult novelties and drug paraphernalia in Collins' red Chevrolet Cruze.

"Reading the correspondence between the actual girl and Mr. Collins was both sickening and scary," said Newton County investigator Glenn Wheeler. "The way he was able to convince her to leave her window unlocked, so a 31-year-old man she had never met could sneak in and have sex with her, is just unsettling. The potential of what could have happened to this young lady is wide open. Parents really need to be very aware of what their children are doing online."

Court records indicate Collins was scheduled to be in court Wednesday for plea deadline. A plea deadline is a hearing where a defendant either accepts the plea bargain offered by the state or declines the offer and moves forward towards trial.
