Man tied to religious organization accused of
child sex abuse

JEFFERSON, NY -- A 51-year-old man is accused of sexually abusing three teenage boys who he had contact with through a Schoharie County religious organization, State Police said.
Jonathan M. Luce of Jefferson is charged with felony criminal sex act, misdemeanor sexual misconduct, misdemeanor sex abuse and misdemeanor endangering the welfare of a child.
The abuse took place inside Luce's home over the past five years, State Police said.
"Luce would create opportunities to be alone with the victims and then engage them in various sexual activity," State Police said in a news release.
Investigators say they want to hear from any other victims, but won't release the name of the religious institution he was involved in.
The law enforcement agency did not immediately release the name of the Schoharie County religious organization that gave Luce access to the teens. The victims ranged from 12 to 17 years old, troopers said.

A child sex abuse charge has been filed against a suspended Tulsa Zoo train conductor arrested last week on child porn charges.
FOX23 was the only media at an Osage County courthouse for Kim Bowman’s arraignment and to hear what he said as he appeared via video conference from jail.
A judge said he would enter a not guilty plea for him. Bowman then said, “Can I just go ahead and plead guilty, get it over with?"
The judge then informed him of the time he was facing in jail with the charges and encouraged him to talk with an attorney first.
Bowman has a $1 million dollar bond for the child sex abuse charge and a $1 million dollar bond for child porn charges filed last week.
Documents show that the suspect did not reportedly meet the alleged victim, believed to be around age 8, at the zoo.

Two Lyons, NY women are facing numerous charges, including child endangerment and welfare fraud charges, following an investigation in Wayne County.
Deputies say 26-year-old Crystal Wood and 25-year-old Courtney Wood fraudulently submitted child care time-sheets to the Wayne County Department of Social Services, and received payment for daycare services not provided. According to deputies, the two women also knew of child sexual abuse and failed to report and stop the abuse. Deputies say the incidents occurred in 2015 and 2016. The abuse did not occur at the daycare.
The two are sisters.
Courtney and Crystal allegedly knew about sexual abuse for children living in their Elmer Street home that was happening for nearly two years; however, neither one reported or stopped the abuse.
Nicholas Mahar, (see below) 25, was charged with felony sex abuse and endangering the welfare of a child in connection with the abuse. He was arrested back in October.
Mahar was Crystal Wood's live-in boyfriend at the time. He is not the father of the children whom he allegedly abused.
Both women were charged with four counts of endangering the welfare of a child, 12 counts of offering a false instrument for filing, welfare fraud, and petit larceny. They were sent to the Wayne County Jail on $2,000 cash/$4,000 bond bail.

New York man facing sex abuse,
child endangerment charges
Waterloo, N.Y. – A Wayne County man is facing two counts of felony sex abuse and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child.
Deputies said Nicholas Mahar, 25, of Waterloo was arrested amid an investigation into allegations of minors being abused at a Lyons residence.

Mahar is scheduled to appear in Lyons Town Court at a later date. Deputies said their investigation is ongoing.
Pennsylvania High School student charged
with sex abuse of 2 children
LANCASTERONLINE | Staff A Conestoga Valley High School student is at Lancaster County Prison on charges of sex abuse of two children.
The girl is a student at Conestoga Valley Middle School, according to the criminal complaint.
Conestoga Valley Superintendent Gerald Huesken declined to comment since the "matter involved incidents outside of school," he said.
East Lampeter Township police charged Emery with statutory sex assault, aggravated indecent assault and related charges regarding the girl.
The girl's mother called Conestoga Valley School District to report "something of a sexual nature" involving Emery and her daughter, according to the complaint, which said Emery and the girl rode the bus together.
School officials contacted police Dec. 1. Emery told police he had sexual contact with the girl at his home in the 2000 block of New Holland Pike.
Regarding the 11-year-old boy, police charged Emery with possessing child pornography and other charges.
Police discovered the online crimes this summer after a tip from Paulding Police Department in Ohio. Emery allegedly had inappropriate contact with an 11-year-old boy, of Paulding, Ohio, via Skype.
Lancaster County Detective John Duby found images of the boy and other boys in a search of Emery's laptop and personal computer, police said.
Police continue to investigate. They believe Emery used online Xbox gaming to befriend potential victims and lure them to Skype. Anyone with information is asked to contact East Lampeter Township police at 717-291-4676.
Emery was first arrested and arraigned on a child pornography case with the 11-year-old boy. He posted $10,000 bail and was released Dec. 2.
Later that day, he was arrested on the case regarding the 13-year-old girl, police said.
District Judge Denise Commins arraigned Emery and set bail at an additional $100,000. East Lampeter Township police Joseph Edgell filed charges.
