Today's Global Pedophile List Includes Tribal Exec, Gold Medalist, Cult Leader & Cop

Former Utah tribal leader to serve 30 years in child sex-abuse case
The Salt Lake Tribune

A former Ute tribal leader in Utah has been sentenced to 30 years in federal prison for sexually abusing a girl from the time she was 10 years old until she was 16.

The U.S. Marshals Service put him on its most wanted fugitives list, and authorities finally caught up with him in a Brazilian resort town in February 2015. Brazilian authorities said he had arrived in Brazil in March 2012.

A spokesman for the U.S. Attorney for Utah says Richard Jenks Jr., 58, of Fort Duchesne, was found guilty during a January trial of one count of aggravated sexual abuse of a child and two counts of a sexual abuse of a minor.

On Friday, U.S. District Judge Clark Waddoups sentenced Jenks to prison, followed by supervised release for life, which includes sex-offender registration.

Jenks has served more than one term on the Ute Tribe Business Committee, representing members of the tribe's Uncompahgre Band. The six-member panel exercises executive and legislative power on the Uintah-Ouray Indian Reservation in northeastern Utah.

His most recent term ended in April 2013.

KIDS’ SWIMMING INSTRUCTOR CAUGHT WITH CHILD SEX ABUSE IMAGES

By Tele Reporter

Dundee, Scotland: A SCOUTS assistant leader and disabled kids’ swimming instructor is facing jail after he admitted downloading a stash of child sex abuse images.

Andrew Gray – a special olympics gold medallist who now teaches swimming to kids – was caught when police raided the home he shares with his parents.

They found hundreds of sick child abuse images of young boys and girls on Gray’s computer following analysis.

Gray – who won gold in the 25 metre butterfly at the 2007 games in Beijing – could face jail after he admitted the charge at Dundee Sheriff Court.

Fiscal depute Saima Rasheed told Dundee Sheriff Court: “The accused has asperger’s syndrome but is not on any medication.

“Confidential information was received indicating that indecent images of children were accused from an IP address attributed to his home address.

“A warrant was executed on September 9 last year and the accused was traced along with his parents within. “The warrant was explained to him and the accused stated ‘Can I ask when this was as I had a problem before’. “His parents then explained about images they had discovered on his mobile phone previously.

“A search began and officers were informed that their computer tower was at a repair company, where a hard drive and computer tower were later seized. “A full examination was carried out and it was discovered that both contained indecent images of children.

Gray, 37, of Dunmore Gardens, Dundee, pleaded guilty on indictment to a charge of taking or making indecent images of children at his home between March 18 and August 29 last year.

Sheriff Alastair Brown deferred sentence until next month for social work background reports and released Gray on bail meantime.

Gray was also placed on the sex offenders register meantime.

PINE CITY, MINN. (AP) –  A judge set bail at $1.5 million Monday for a religious sect leader who's charged with sexually abusing girls at a secluded compound in rural Minnesota.

Victor Barnard, 54, made his first state court appearance since his extradition from Brazil. U.S. marshals delivered him to the Pine County Jail on Saturday.

Pine County prosecutors charged Barnard in April 2014 with 59 counts of criminal sexual conduct for allegedly having sexual relationships with two girls in his "Maidens Group" at his River Road Fellowship compound near Finlayson, about 90 miles north of Minneapolis.

Barnard looked haggard, thin and pale during the brief hearing as attorneys argued over the conditions of his bail.

Pine County Attorney Reese Frederickson argued for bail as high as $7 million, saying he'd received reports that Barnard's remaining followers were liquidating assets to try to free him. He said Barnard remains a flight risk.

But defense attorney Dave Risk said his client had already spent more than a year in prison in Brazil and had agreed to extradition. He said the prison stay "took quite a toll on him. His health has diminished significantly as a result."

Judge James Router set bail at $1.5 million with conditions including Barnard's having no contact with the two women he allegedly abused starting when they were girls, surrendering his passport and being monitored by GPS. Barnard could also go free with no conditions if he posts $3 million.

According to the criminal complaint, the two women told investigators they were among about 10 girls and young women who were chosen to live apart from their families in what was called the Shepherd's Camp. One alleged Barnard started abusing her when she was 13, continuing until she was 22. The other said she was abused between ages 12 and 20.

Investigators have said Barnard used religious coercion and intimidation to maintain his control over them. They've also said they believe Barnard abused other girls but were unable to get others to come forward.

Most of the counts against Barnard carry maximum sentences of 30 years in prison.

Ex-Victoria cop jailed for child sex abuse
By AAP

A predatory Victoria Police officer used his position to sexually abuse young children for more than a decade.

The man violated nine boys and girls in the 1970s and '80s and was later jailed for similar crimes interstate in the mid-2000s.

Now in his 60s, he was handed a minimum 15 years behind bars on Tuesday for a string of sexual offences including rape and buggery. He won't be eligible for release until he's aged in his 80s.

The man abused one of his victims in a divisional van and another at a police station.

The former police officer abused his stepchildren and family friends, who were all aged about five to 10 when he first began to prey on them.

One woman recalled him coming to school and taking her out of class before molesting her, ordering her to shower and driving her back.

"I don't think even hell will take you," she has previously told her attacker. "So just rot where you fall."

A sworn member of the force for about 10 years, the man resigned almost 40 years ago when allegations arose.

The officer, wearing his uniform, went to a local boy's home under the guise of work after the child was reported for throwing stones. He sexually abused the boy, who later told his family what happened. The abuse was reported by the boy's mother and investigators questioned the child.

The boy's mother didn't want to take the matter further. The police told her the officer would be booted from the force and moved away. The ex-cop continued to live as a free man, offending against kids.

The man told many of his victims it was a "secret" and gave one boy chocolate after episodes of abuse. On one occasion he threatened to kill a stepchild's mother and siblings if his crimes were revealed.

The court heard that the man, who had been sexually abused as a child, was still considered a high risk of reoffending.

He was sentenced to 19 years in jail with a non-parole period of 15 years after pleading guilty to 18 charges.

"You clothed yourself in the respectability of the uniform of Victoria Police and betrayed that respect by the most base of human behaviour - offending sexually against vulnerable children," the judge said.
