Delta, B.C., School Psychologist Charged with Child Porn in U.S.

British Columbia, Canada's, Delta School District psychologist William Brook has been charged in the U.S. with possession of child pornography that includes the depiction of minors engaged in sexual acts.
In an affidavit filed in U.S. district court in Seattle, Department of Homeland Security special agent Toby Ledgerwood says his office received information in April that Brook might have received child porn.

Ledgerwood says that Brook, a Point Roberts, Washington, USA, resident working for the Delta school district, was stopped on May 7 by U.S. border officials as he tried to enter the U.S.
Point Roberts is a small point of land below the 49th parallel
that belongs to the US but is attached only to Canada at Delta, B.C
.
In the court affidavit, the agent says he didn't find any images on Brook's laptop, but the psychologist allegedly admitted to using online chat rooms and exchanging pictures while investigating cases of emotional and physical abuse involving children.

During a subsequent search of Brook's Point Roberts home, says Ledgerwood in the affidavit, border officials found more than 300 child porn images on a computer, including of children as young as six years old, and a four GB thumb-drive full of additional images.

Delta School District spokeswoman Deneka Michaud said Brook has not been at work since police told them last week about the charges.

"At this moment, he is not at work and I cannot tell you about his employee status," she said, "but we take these charges very seriously and under the School Act,  there are provisions to suspend employees for such incidents."

Michaud said Brook is no longer working in any Delta school.

The information contained in the U.S. court documents are allegations that have not been proven in court.
