4 Year Old Rescued from Child Pornographer

Police say they have rescued a 4-year-old girl from Hinton, Alta., who was being sexually exploited.
Kenneth McKinley

A 52-year-old man was arrested at a work camp in Worsley, Alta. last month by the province's Northern Alberta Internet Child Exploitation team, with help from the RCMP and Edmonton Police Service.

Kenneth McKinley is charged with making, distributing, and accessing child pornography, in addition to sexual interference and sexual assault.

He is in custody and is now scheduled to appear in Edmonton provincial court Friday.

The investigation began after the RCMP’s National Child Exploitation Coordination Centre in Ottawa discovered pornographic images of the child being uploaded to a website, a news release said.

Investigators were led to believe that hands-on abuse was taking place and they fast-tracked the investigation to make an arrest.

McKinley knew the girl's family and had spent time alone with her., investigators said.

He is not related to the girl, who is now safe with her family, said RCMP Sgt. Mike Lokken.

"We have been able to identify a young victim of child exploitation and hold the person who was allegedly doing it accountable so this doesn't happen to her again," he said.

That's answered prayer - we need so much more of it.
